Work Package 2: The work package called Developing Disaster Journalism Course Curriculum and Content for Students consists of 5 different activities.
In this work package, a Disaster Journalism Course Curriculum will be developed to address the lack of theoretical and practical knowledge about disaster journalism in higher education institutions that provide communication and journalism education. The developed 15-week course curriculum will be produced in English and the partners' native languages.
Selçuk University will design field research to be conducted with the participation of 100 academics, journalists and students from four countries.
Research will be implemented by partners in partner countries under the supervision of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev.
Selçuk University will analyze the data obtained in the research and prepare a recommendation report for the draft curriculum.
Using the recommendation report from Activity 1 to determine the main framework of the curriculum.
Creating a comprehensive disaster journalism curriculum based on research findings.
The Directory of Communication will check the contents and curriculum.
Development of a full semester's worth of course content for disaster journalism.
The developed 15-week course curriculum will be produced in English and the partners' native languages.
Creating theoretical and practical knowledge resources about disaster journalism for higher education institutions.
The Disaster Journalism Course will be taught to students as an elective course in academic units for one semester.
