In a world where disasters have almost become a part of daily life, the activities of educated journalists regarding disasters have become vital to reducing their negative effects on societies. The Disaster Journalism Project, titled "Disaster Journalism: Preventing the News from Turning into a Disaster" aims to address the gap in journalism education by developing comprehensive curricula, guidebooks, and digital materials focused on disaster journalism.

Our goal is to cultivate a skilled workforce within media organizations, equipped to effectively combat disasters and contribute to disaster prevention, preparedness, and recovery efforts.
Project Objectives
- Curriculum Development: Develop a robust Disaster Journalism Course curriculum to be implemented in partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) for a semester.
- Guidebook Creation: Create ethical, practical, and safety guidebooks for disaster journalism.
- Training Activities: Organize international Learning, Teaching, and Training Activities (LTTA) for journalists.
- Digital Transformation: Transform the guidebooks into digital formats, including podcasts, infographics, and short videos, to enhance their accessibility and dissemination among target group.
