Work Package 4: Turning Guidebooks into Digital

Objective:

Work Package 4 (WP4) aims to digitalize the Disaster Journalism Guidebooks produced in WP3 to enhance accessibility, inclusivity, and sustainability. By adapting the guidebooks to digital platforms, this work package ensures that journalists, media professionals, and the general public can easily access and engage with the content through innovative digital tools.

  • Expand international reach with multi-language support.
  • Increase accessibility by digitizing guidebooks.
  • Ensure sustainability and easy content updates.
  • Eliminate time and location barriers for access to information.
  • Support lifelong learning through digital formats.
  • Enable use by disadvantaged groups via audio formats.
  • Use data visualization to make information more engaging.
  • Create concise and effective content through short videos.

Main Results:

  1. Multilingual Podcast Series – Based on guidebook content.
  2. Multilingual Interactive Infographics – Visually representing key information.
  3. Multilingual Short Videos – Engaging, high-quality videos summarizing guidebook content.

Indicators to Measure Success:

  • Quantitative Indicators:

    • 15 interactive infographics developed.
    • 15 short videos produced.
    • 15 high-quality voice recordings for podcasts.
    • 200 listeners/viewers engaging with digital content.
    • 5 different file formats for distribution across multiple channels.
    • Subtitles prepared for all short videos.
    • Feedback from 30 journalists and academics from four partner countries.
  • Qualitative Indicators:

    • High-resolution (4K) video production.
    • High-quality voice recordings for accessibility.
    • Positive feedback from journalists, media professionals, and users.
    • At least 60% audience satisfaction with digital materials.
