Work Package 1: Project Management
Objective:
Work Package 1 (WP1) focuses on the overall management, coordination, and quality control of the "Disaster Journalism: Preventing the News from Turning into a Disaster" project. It ensures that all work packages are implemented effectively, within budget, and on time while maintaining high-quality standards.
Main Goals:
- Monitor progress, quality, and achievement of project activities.
- Ensure proper budget control and time management.
- Minimize and manage risks (delays, budget issues, conflicts).
- Ensure accessibility, inclusion, and digital transformation.
- Implement green practices and promote sustainability.
- Encourage participation and civic engagement.
Risk Management:
- Clear roles and responsibilities assigned from the beginning.
- Regular progress tracking and early detection of potential issues.
- Quarterly risk assessment meetings to prevent and resolve conflicts.
- Unforeseen costs managed through budget reallocation.
- If a partner underperforms, tasks are reassigned to ensure timely completion.
Ensuring Accessibility and Inclusion:
- All project outputs (curriculum, guidebooks, training materials) available online for easy access.
- Social media, project website, and open-access platforms used for dissemination.
- Translation of key materials into partner languages (Turkish, Spanish, Slovenian, Ukrainian).
- Target audience includes journalists, media professionals, academics, and citizen journalists.
Use of Digital Tools and Learning Methods:
- ADDIE Model used for curriculum development (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation).
- Microsoft Teams / Zoom for online SC meetings, recorded for documentation.
- Google Drive for file sharing, with dedicated folders for each partner.
- Project email list and WhatsApp group for efficient communication.
- All materials (videos, guidebooks) available in multiple formats for accessibility across devices.
Green Practices in Project Implementation:
- Digital-first approach minimizes printing and waste.
- Project aligns with European Green Practices (Green Erasmus, ErasmusGoesGreen).
- Climate crisis awareness integrated into journalism training materials.
- High-quality 4K videos and digital resources ensure longevity and sustainability.
Encouraging Participation and Civic Engagement:
- Collaboration with public institutions, NGOs, journalist unions, and academia.
- Engagement with national/local journalism networks to maximize outreach.
- Opinion surveys, interviews, and feedback collection ensure stakeholder involvement.
- Open access to educational materials for a broader audience beyond direct participants.
